Two Laker Runners Earn All-Region Honors, Qualify for National Tournament

Both cross country teams ran in the Region XII Tournament hosted at Goodells County Park on Friday, October 25th. The Lakers opened their season on this same course, and would look to best their season-opening times in pursuit of earning their spot on the Region XII Team. Those receiving Region XII Team honors earn an automatic bid to the NJCAA National Tournament in Virginia.

On the ladies side Natalie Lemert bested her season-opening time at Goodells County Park by nearly three minutes, running her fastest time of the year finishing 34th in 21:54.2. Josie Gorcyca bested her season-opening time at Goodells County Park as well, by nearly four minutes, finishing 61st in 24:47.5. Her finish at regionals was just off her top collegiate time.

In the men's race, Drew Moore ran a very competitive race finishing 6th overall with a time of 26:19.8.  Mason Cross finished the challenging course with his best time of the year finishing 9th in 26:34.1. Moore and Cross each bested their season-opening race at Goodells County Park by nearly four minutes. Josh Warner ran a steady race finishing in 36:25 beating his previous low time by over two minutes.  Both Moore and Cross, with their top 15 finish, have earned All-Region XII Tournament Team honors, qualifying them for the NJCAA Cross Country Championships in Mechanicsville, VA on Nov. 9th.
