Lakers Face Unusual U.P. Weather at Norse Invite

Escanaba, MI - Another race, another win for Mid Michigan Lakers runner Drew Moore.  Despite battling unprecedented warm weather, Moore claimed his second straight individual win and third career victory for the Lakers.  Michigan's Upper Penninsula is typically known for cooler temperatures at this time of the year but on Saturday that wasn't the case.

"We ran great and had another standout performance—despite the hot and humid morning," said Lakers head coach John Bradley.

Moore ran a season-best 8K time of 27:25 on a tough, hilly farm course.

In just his second collegiate race, Ace Pierson finished 14th overall with a solid 30:17, while Logan Dudley placed 25th in 31:57, continuing to gain experience and consistency.

On the women's side, Natalie Lemert turned in another strong showing, finishing 22nd in the 5K with a time of 23:42, holding her own in the challenging conditions.

Despite the warm and humid conditions in the U.P., the Lakers showed grit and determination across the board and have a couple weeks off before competing in the MCCAA Northern Conference championships on September 26th.
