MCCAA and NJCAA Region 12 Announce Softball Award Winners

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Six players from the Mid Michigan College softball team earned honors from the MCCAA and NJCAA Region 12 on Tuesday afternoon.

The Lakers finished the season with a school record 26 victories and advanced to the Great Lakes District A Tournament Final, where they were defeated 8-7 by Mott Community College. 

Leading the way was Alexis Mielke. She was named All-Region, All-MCCAA, and First Team All-Northern Conference. Mielke led the Laker offense with a .554 batting average, six home runs, and 52 RBIs. She will continue her playing career at Wayne State University in Detroit. 

Zoey Bacon earned All-Region, All-MCCAA, and First Team All-Northern Conference honors. She hit .395 with 17 RBIs and 16 stolen bases. 

Three players earned Second Team All-Northern Conference honors for Mid. They are Adria Reed, Gabi Johnston, and Phoenix Shaw. 

Emmah Hanson was the final Laker to receive an award as she earned Honorable Mention All-Northern Conference.
