PREVIEW: WBB vs. Kirtland

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The No. 9 Mid Michigan College women's basketball team (14-2, 2-0) will look to make it 11 wins in a row on Saturday (Jan. 18) when they face Kirtland (1-8, 0-2) on the road. 

SCOUTING THE FIREBIRDS: Kirtland enters the contest with the Lakers struggling, having lost eight games in a row. Most recently the Firebirds were defeated 59-50 by Alpena on Wednesday night. Mariah Ellis is the team's leading scorer with 98 total points this season, while Alyssa Kiel leads the Firebirds in rebounding with 64. Adrianna Gilmore is another player to watch with 56 rebounds and 29 assists this year. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: Mid has now scored 100+ points in back-to-back games after Wednesday's dominating 116-34 victory over Montcalm on Wednesday night. The Lakers recorded 34 steals and forced 50 Centurion turnovers in the win. Chloe Watson led Mid with 24 points, seven rebounds, and four steals, while Delaney Seaman posted 23 points and six steals. Grace Chinavare had 13 points, and Paige Ebels posted 11 points and five steals.
