ICYMI: Lakers Celebrate Sophomore Night With Win Over Alpena

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The No. 6 Mid Michigan College women's basketball team celebrated Sophomore Night last Friday with a 112-39 victory over Alpena inside Morey Courts. 

The win gave the Lakers (24-3, 12-1 MCCAA North) a share of the MCCAA North Regular Season Championship. 

Rachel Resio led the Lakers with 20 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Addysen Gray had 19 points and seven rebounds. 

Paige Ebels added 12 points and nine rebounds, Alexus Dunn scored 11 points, while Madison Smith and Delaney Seaman chipped in 12 points each. 

Anna Herbolsheimer led the Lumberjacks (4-17, 3-10 MCCAA North) with 11 points. 

Mid can clinch the outright North Division title with a win at Bay College on Tuesday (Feb. 25). Tipoff between the Norse and Lakers is scheduled for 5:30 PM. 

Back on Feb. 1, Mid held off Bay for a 68-61 victory at Morey Courts. The Norse since then however have not lost and are riding a six-game winning streak. 

Last Saturday, Bay earned a 81-60 victory over Delta led by Anna Axtell's 30 points. 

Following Tuesday's game, Mid will lock in for postseason play.
