Women's Basketball All-Region and All-Conference Awards Announced
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The MCCAA and NJCAA Region 12 announced its 2024-25 women's basketball award winners on Wednesday, March 12th, with multiple members of the Mid Michigan College Lakers receiving honors.
Laker Head Coach Lance Maney was named Great Lakes District C Coach of the Year, as well as MCCAA Coach of the Year after leading Mid to a 28-4 overall record and 12-2 mark in MCCAA Northern Conference play. He has led the Lakers to the NJCAA D2 National Tournament three seasons in a row.
Sophomore Chloe Watson was named All-Region, All-MCCAA, and First Team All-Northern Conference. The Hemlock native averaged 16.5 points per game along with 5.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists per contest.
Alongside Watson, Rachel Resio earned All-Region, All-MCCAA, and First Team All-Northern Conference honors. She was also named to the All-Defensive team. The Swan Valley High School graduate averaged 16 points per contest this year, while pulling down 3.4 rebounds and dishing out 3.8 assists per game.
Paige Ebels was named Second Team All-Northern Conference and joined Resio on the All-Defensive team. The sophomore from McBain averaged 9.5 PPG and 3.2 RPG.
Four Lakers were named to the Honorable Mention All-Northern Conference team, including Jiaryatou Cisse, Addysen Gray, Alexus Dunn, and Delaney Seaman.
As a team this season, the Lakers won both the MCCAA State Championship and the NJCAA Region 12 Great Lakes District C Championship.
Mid will now turn their attention to the NJCAA D2 National Tournament. The Lakers open play against Lake Land College at 7:00 PM Tuesday, March 18th. All games will be played on the campus of Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Missouri.
