Resio and Watson Earn All-American Honors

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – After a seventh place finish in the NJCAA D2 National Tournament, the Mid Michigan College women's basketball team has seen two players earn NJCAA All-American honors following incredible seasons by both individuals. 

Sophomore Chloe Watson was named NJCAA Second Team All-American. The Hemlock, Mich. native averaged 16.9 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game. She scored a career high 32 points on Jan. 22nd in the Lakers 137-46 win over Delta College at Morey Courts. Watson was also named All-Region, All-MCCAA, and First Team All-Northern Conference following the season 

Fellow sophomore and guard Rachel Resio earned Third Team All-American honors. Resio played in all 36 games for the Lakers and posted 16.8 points per game while shooting 43.9% from the field and 34.7% from three-point range. Her best game this season was a 39 point performance against SC4 in the consolation bracket at the NJCAA D2 Tournament. Mid won the game 88-80 on their way to finishing the season with three straight victories. Along with All-American honors, Resio earned All-Region, All-MCCAA, First Team All-Northern Conference, and All-Defensive honors.  

The Lakers finished the year with a 31-5 record and won both the MCCAA State Championship and the Great Lakes District C Tournament.
