2025-26 Women's Basketball Accolades
Mount Pleasant, MI – The Mid Michigan College women's basketball team capped off a strong 2025–26 season with multiple postseason honors, highlighting the success of both the program and its standout student-athletes.
Leading the way for the Lakers were Madison Smith and Delaney Seaman, who each earned NJCAA Region XII Division II All-Region Team honors after impressive performances throughout the season. The duo also collected All-MCCAA Team recognition, solidifying their impact as two of the conference's top players and key contributors to Mid Michigan's success on the court.
At the conference level, Smith and Seaman were both named First Team All-MCCAA Northern Conference. Seaman's standout season also earned her Northern Conference Player of the Year, while Smith was recognized for her defensive presence with Northern Conference Defensive Player of the Year honors.
Additional Lakers were recognized across the conference awards as well. Abigail Lautzenheiser and Alexus Dunn earned Second Team All-Northern Conference honors, while Grace Chinavare and Gracie Mellinger were selected to the Third Team All-Northern Conference. Katie Phillips received Honorable Mention All-Northern Conference recognition.
Lautzenheiser's strong freshman campaign also earned her a spot on the MCCAA Northern Conference All-Freshman Team, highlighting her immediate impact for the Lakers. On the defensive end, Smith and Lautzenheiser were both named to the Northern Conference All-Defensive Team for their efforts in anchoring Mid Michigan's defense throughout the season.
Smith and Seaman consistently led the Lakers offensively while playing pivotal roles in the team's overall performance throughout the year. Their leadership and production helped Mid Michigan compete at a high level in conference and regional play, making them central figures in the team's accomplishments this season.
On the sidelines, head coach Tanner Smith was recognized for his leadership and the team's success, earning NJCAA Great Lakes District B Coach of the Year honors. Under his direction, the Lakers continued to build on the program's momentum, showcasing a competitive and disciplined style of play throughout the year.
With multiple all-conference selections, regional honors, and major individual awards, the 2025–26 season proved to be another successful chapter for Mid Michigan women's basketball. The recognition of Smith, Seaman, Lautzenheiser, and their teammates—along with Coach Smith's honor—reflects the hard work, dedication, and competitive spirit that defined the Lakers' season.
