Laker Baseball Has Nine Receive All-Conference Honors
Nine players from the baseball program received All-Conference honors for the 2022-23 season.
Two players were voted Honorable Mention from the MCCAA Northern Conference: infielder Beau Falkenhagen and outfielder Tyler Duncan. Falkenhagen batted .371 with 12 extra-base hits and 30 runs driven in. Duncan hit 3 homeruns, driving in 21 runs while batting .365 on the year.
Numerous players received Second Team All-Northern Conference honors: Donovan Borg, Avain Rivera, Trevor Crawford, Dean Sommer, and Brendan Martin. Borg lead the team with 45 hits, 19 of which were extra-base hits, while carrying a .381 average with 3 homeruns and 29 RBI. Rivera led the team in homeruns (5) and RBI (31) while hitting for a .339 average. Crawford tied for the team lead in wins with 6 victories. He also had a 2.45 ERA and averaged 10.64 K/9. Sommer also tied the team lead with 6 wins, and led the team in K/9 at a whopping 11.44 clip. Martin was third on the team in ERA with a 2.70 ERA while accumulating a 2-2 record over 36.2 innings pitched.
Andrew Charters was named All-Region, All-MCCAA, and First Team All-Northern Conference. Charters led the team in batting average (.431), on base percentage (.553), and slugging percentage (.723)
Alex Duley was named All-MCCAA, First Team All-Northern Conference, and Northern Conference Freshman of the Year. Duley led the team in ERA at 1.54 and piled up 6 wins.
The Laker baseball program qualified for the postseason for it's second consecutive season, racking up a 27-15 record, thanks in large part to the contributions of the nine individuals receiving these All-Conference honors.
