Baseball's Stimac Named MCCAA North Player of the Week
Macomb, MI - The MCCAA league office has named sophomore Nic Stimac the MCCAA Northern Conference, Player of the Week for the week ending April 12th.
The sophomore catcher from Flushing hit .429 in helping the Lakers to a 5-1 record on the week that catapulted them past Grand Rapids atop the conference standings. In a 7-4 win against Muskegon, Stimac went 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI. He followed up that effort with another two-hit game as Mid defeated the Jayhawks, 7-1. In game four of the series, he added another two hits and picked up an RBI as the Lakers won a 14-1 five inning contest.
Over the weekend, Stimac added three more hits and two more doubles against Delta College in 3-0 and 14-7 wins. In the six games, he had four doubles and five total RBI.
