Lakers Roll Past Montcalm

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – After opening MCCAA Northern Conference play 1-0 with an 88-68 road win over North Central Michigan last Saturday, the No. 23 Mid Michigan College men's basketball team (13-3, 2-0) moved to 2-0 in league play with a 100-58 victory over Montcalm Community College (7-9, 1-1) on Wednesday night inside Morey Courts.

James Wright led Mid once again with another double-double, posting 22 points and 12 rebounds. De'Antre Griffin added 18 points, while Amonti Greene recorded 14 points. 

The Lakers led by 14 at the halftime break 47-33. Mid however proceeded to impose their will on the Centurions in the second half, outscoring the visitors 53-25 in the final 20 minutes.

As a team the Lakers shot 37-of-69 from the field for a shooting percentage of 53.6%. Mid struggled from three-point range, shooting 6-of-26 from the field (23.1%). At the free throw line, the Lakers were 20-of-28 (71.4%). 

Mid hits the road on Saturday with a game at Kirtland. Tipoff is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
