MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The No. 19 Mid Michigan College men's basketball team fought off a valiant effort from Delta College on Wednesday night inside Morey Courts, defeating the Pioneers 105-95.
James Wright led the Lakers (15-3, 4-0 MCCAA North) with 33 points and 15 rebounds. Amonti Greene added 21 points and five steals while De'Antre Griffin posted 16 points.
Delta (6-11, 1-3 MCCAA North) led 48-43 at halftime, but the Lakers came alive in the second half outscoring the Pioneers 62-47 in the final 20 minutes.
Mid shot 37-of-62 (59.7%) from the field, 14-of-30 (46.7%) from three-point range, and 17-of-25 (68%) from the charity stripe.
The Lakers will look to extend their 12-game winning streak at Alpena on Saturday. Tipoff is set for 3:00 PM following the women's contest.
