MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The No. 23 Mid Michigan College men's basketball team (13-3, 2-0) will put their 10 game winning streak on the line Saturday (Jan. 18) with a trip to Kirtland (3-5, 2-0). The Lakers are coming off a 100-58 victory over Montcalm on Wednesday (Jan. 15).
SCOUTING KIRTLAND: The Firebirds enter Saturday with a 2-0 MCCAA Northern Conference mark. They defeated Delta 78-75 on January 11 and took down Alpena 69-67 on Wednesday night. Wesley Saint Juste leads the team with 109 total points this season while Troy Jenkins has 108. Jenkins also leads the team in rebounding with 54 total. Noah Cosme has dished out a team best 29 assists this year.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS: Against Montcalm, James Wright led the Lakers with 22 points and 12 rebounds for his ninth double-double of the season. De'Antre Griffin had 18 points against the Centurions while Amonti Greene 14 points. Mid outrebounded Montcalm 47-20 while shooting 53.6% from the field.
UP NEXT: Following the Kirtland contest, Mid will return to Morey Courts to take on Delta at 7:30 PM following the women's contest on Wednesday (Jan. 22).
