Men's Basketball 2025-26 Season Preview

Harrison, Mich. – Coming off a record-breaking 25-6 season and a conference championship,
the Mid Michigan College Lakers Men's Basketball team enters the 2025 season with high
expectations and renewed energy.

Head Coach Kaleb House knows this year brings both opportunity and challenge. "We hope to
continue our success and compete for another conference championship and a berth to the
national tournament," he said. "With 12 new players in the program, we're young and talented
— but we know it will take focus and growth to reach our goals."

The Lakers' culture continues to emphasize both athletic and academic excellence. Alongside
championship aspirations, the team is committed to maintaining a 3.0+ team GPA and building
lifelong habits of discipline and leadership.

Team chemistry has been a bright spot early on. "Our returning sophomores have shown strong
leadership, and our freshmen have stepped up as well," said House. "It's a high-character group
that enjoys competing together — and that's something special."

Key returners leading the way include Amonti Greene, Vynce Overshown, Gage Coonan, and
Jaden Clark. Newcomers Christian Zielinski, Caleb Lindsey, and Zack Parks have also made
immediate impacts with their leadership and energy.

Fans can expect the Lakers' trademark up-tempo, high-energy style again this season. "We like
to be disruptive on defense and score quickly with pace and ball movement," said House. "It's a
fun style to play — and a fun one to watch."

As always, balancing the demands of college life is a top priority. "Our coaching staff takes pride
in mentoring our players, helping them with time management, and encouraging strong academic
habits," he added.

Looking ahead, the Lakers are preparing for a tough MCCAA North slate. "It's going to be a
battle every night.  We expect the league to be competitive top to bottom — but we
plan to be right in the mix for another title."

The long-term vision for Mid Michigan basketball remains bright, especially with the new event
center on the horizon. "We're excited for what's ahead," added House. "That facility will elevate
our program and the experience for all our student-athletes."

When asked what will define success this season, he didn't hesitate: "Growth. We're focused
on improving every day — as players, as teammates, and as people."
